Stewart Huston was born in Coatesville, Pa., on May 9, 1898, the son of Charles Lukens and Annie Stewart Huston. He attended Haverford College and Lehigh University, where he studied metallurgical engineering. Between 1917 and 1919 he served with the American Expeditionary Force in France. From 1923 to 1932 he worked as a metallurgist at the family's Lukens Steel Company in Coatesville. Sheshbazzar B. Worth was born in Marshallton, Chester County, Pa., in 1807 and worked as a storekeeper and blacksmith at Embreeville. He later formed a partnership with his friend, Hugh E. Steele (1815-1874), to operate the Laurel Iron Works near Mortonville. Between 1847 and 1852, Worth managed the Elk Iron Works in Cecil County, Md., for the Park family.
